INTERIOR SURFACE PREPARATION
At speed Pro Painting we take the necessary steps to ensure your paint job looks fabulous and will last for many years to come.
We will properly prepare all surfaces by:
Repairing nicks, cracks, nail pops, etc. with drywall compound or spackle.
Fill all gaps and voids with a quality caulk, to hide cracks and add the finishing touch.
Sand any rough surfaces to ensure a smooth finish.
Priming:
Priming is not necessary if your existing paint is in good condition.
We will sometimes prime over dark colors when the new color is light.
We will prime all repaired or patched areas and new drywall or plaster.
We will use stain kill primer on water stains, crayon marks and other stains that will not cover with paint alone.
Painting:
For the best dirt resistance, durability and scrub ability, we use top-of-the-line latexes.
A satin or eggshell finish will provide better dirt and stain resistance and scrub ability.
A flat latex will hide irregularities in the surface but will not resist stains and burnishing as well as a quality eggshell or satin finish.
A semi-gloss latex is best for trim, doors and windows.
